6 Fabulous Cheap Eats in Las Vegas Under $10
After a long day of studying and attending lectures in class, who wants to go back home to cook?
While some may happen closer to the tourist attractions in the city, there are many activities that are available near the university. Take a break from your books to check out these events.
From November 12 to the 14th, Day in Vegas takes place. This is a 3-day festival that brings together numerous dozens of performers, including many you know and others you do not. It’s music constantly. There are three stages set up for various performances. You’ll find shows from Kendrick Lamar, Travis Scott, AG Club, Cico P, and many others. If you love music, you want to be at this event. Keep in mind it does have vaccination requirements. The whole thing happens at the Las Vegas Festival Grounds. You do not want to miss this experience.
You may know that each of the casinos has fabulous shows, especially during the holidays. MGM Grand has a lineup throughout the month that may interest many students. Here are some of the performances to check out:
If you have not heard of StorySLAM it may be time to do so. Taking place at the Charleston Heights Arts Center, StorySLAM: Best Laid Plans is a fun event that calls itself a celebration of words and experiences. Anyone in the community – including college students – is welcome to attend. They can share their own personal stories, listen to others, or bring a group of friends for expression and fun. It happens at 7pam on Brush Street on November 6th. You’ll need to purchase tickets in advance.
If you want something low-key and still fun, check out Movie Madness-Midway. It happens on November 12th. It’s a popular event involving the showing of a movie at each of the parks in North Las Vegas. There’s no cost to attend. You can purchase food and drinks from the location. You can also bring with you a big blanket, a cooler of drinks and goodies, and a few good friends to relax under the stars watching a movie. It’s really a fantastic experience that’s suitable for those college students that need a way to relax and unwind doing something that doesn’t cost anything.
Perhaps you want to do something a bit more sophisticated (date night, anyone?) The La BoDEAD is an excellent experience. It takes place at the Charleston Heights Arts Center on Brush Street at 7:30 on November 12 – 14th and then again on the 19th – 24th. It is an opera with a modern twist, which makes it a bit more appealing to those who may want something less difficult to follow. The story follows a group of American exchange students as they visit France and Italy to study art. The plot thickens as they learn of the strange flu that transforms people. It’s a fun and interesting show.
There are plenty of current events taking place at the T-Mobile Arena Las Vegas this November. It is easy enough to find something happening here, but here are a few recommendations (the list is generally much longer!)
Keep in mind there’s much more planned for the T-Mobile Arena. You may need to meet coronavirus screenings or vaccination rules in order to qualify to visit some events.
Current events are always changing in a big city like Las Vegas. There’s much more to do as well. Be sure to check out the small town events happening as well including holiday events like lightings and tree decorating. For those who are living near the University of Nevada Las Vegas, there are likely to be new additions to activities on campus, too. If you’re a student, this is a place to go to find out what’s happening and how you can get involved in it all.
